Commuters were today being taught how to spot hate crime on London’s Tubes and buses.

Police officers were holding a series of events to raise awareness after figures showed hate crime was an element in five per cent of all crimes reported on London’s transport network.

More than 50 events are taking place across London stations,

Police were on duty informing members of the public that anyone who reports a hate crime will be taken seriously.

In the last three months, BTP officers have spoken to more than 5,000 people about whether they’ve seen or experienced any form of hate crime.
